Thomas Shipley is a resident of Madison, WI and is one of the original organizers of Greenwoods Financial Group. He will serve the bank in the capacity of Sr. VP of Business Development. Tom has a BA degree from The University of Wisconsin- Madison in Education and a Master degree from Northern Illinois University in Educational Administration. He also completed pre-doctoral work in Administration from Loyola University in Chicago. After a highly successful 16 year career in public education as a teacher, coach and administrator, Mr. Shipley was hired as President of Edgewood High School in Madison, WI. His responsibilities included management of the administrative staff, Board of Trustee development, marketing, fundraising and fund development in addition to business development. During his tenure at Edgewood, he developed highly successful marketing and development programs. From 1991 to 2001, the school's enrollment grew from 340 to 640 students; annual funding doubled and a $14 million capital campaign was successfully completed. Madison Magazine named Tom one of Madison’s Most Influential People in recognition of his outstanding work at Edgewood. Tom’s background in “the business of education” eventually led him into private business when in 2001 he became the president of Rockit Products, Inc., a marketing and product development company. During his time at Rockit Products, Inc., the company acquired three products that currently are marketed to both the business and consumer markets. Tom’s civic, non-for-profit and community involvement along with his past business experience will assist the Bank in business development, investor relations and management development.
Tom is currently a member of the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce and Secretary of the Business and Education Partnership. He is also Past-President of the University of Wisconsin “W” Club and serves as Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Scholarship Committee. In addition, Tom has been active and served as a development consultant to many non-profit organizations in the Dane County region.
Tom and his wife Beth have three children Sara (McLenighan), Joseph, Matthew and two grandchildren Megan and Morgan. |
