Nancy Elsing is a resident of Poynette, WI. Nancy has a BS degree from The University of Wisconsin - Madison in Landscape Architecture and a Masters of Science degree from The University of Wisconsin – Madison in Agricultural Journalism. Nancy is a result-oriented professional with 15+ years experience working as a high-level executive in non-profit organizations, and she has more than 30 years experience as an executive in a for-profit family-owned corporation. Nancy has extensive qualifications in all facets of management including grant writing, budgets, interaction with business and organizational executives, volunteer organizations, government officials, advisory boards and employees at all levels.
Nancy is a highly accomplished professional and brings considerable expertise to the Greenwoods Board, including a very strong business and personal network in Columbia County. Nancy currently serves (since 1995) as the Executive Director for the Columbia County Economic Development Corporation in Portage, WI. Nancy also currently serves (since 2000) as the Executive Director for the Columbia County Visitor's Bureau/Tourism Committee in Portage, WI. Nancy is currently (since 1976) the Vice-President of Elsing Oil Company, Inc., Poynette Amoco Inc., and Arlington Amoco Inc., all of which are located in Poynette, WI.
Nancy was the Assistant Director for Columbia County Economic Development Corporation in Portage, WI from 1992 to 1994. Nancy was a Program and Planning Analyst with the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection in Madison, WI from 1994 to 1995. Nancy served as an Executive Legal Secretary for Ela, Christianson, Ela, Esch, Hart & Clark, SC in Poynette, WI from 1972 to 1982.
Nancy is currently, and has always been, extremely active in her community. She currently holds the following volunteer positions in her community:
• Board member (former Chair from 2000-2006) of the Columbia County Job Center
• Chairperson of the board since 2003 for the Columbia County Workforce Development
• Board member since 2001 and current Treasurer (since 2003) of the Community Coordinated Childcare
• Board member since 1985 of the Poynette Industrial Development Corporation
• Board member since 1984 and current President since 1998 of the Poynette Area Community Development Corporation
• Member of the organizational team since 1995 for the Columbia County Labor Forum
